Vaccine to Mitigate E. coli Contamination not being used

Interesting article by CBC Medical Sciences Correspondent Kelly Crowe regarding the recent outbreak of E. coli 0157 infections from contaminated romaine lettuce. It turns out that a vaccine exists that could significantly reduce the amount of the pathogen shed by cattle (the source of the lettuce contamination). However, industry has not embraced its use.
